Belinda Yabsley is the first female and youngest General Manager of a Mercedes–Benz dealership in Australia. Having recently launched the new Mercedes–Benz Sydney Airport Express dealership in February 2006, an operation with such unique customer focus, its results are already making waves in the Australian motor industry.

 

But creating waves isn't a new thing for her. Having achieved her position through literally reinventing the art of customer relationship management. Belinda began her career as the "Baby Faced Sales Assassin", a nickname given to her by colleagues, after being promoted from receptionist to her first ever sales role at a Sydney dealership. It wasn't long after this that the very smart people at Mercedes Benz head–hunted Belinda in July 1996.

 

Once on board with Mercedes, Belinda pioneered a unique 'Intrapreneur' approach to her sales targets, often using her own resources to build a successful business–within–a–business model. As a result, her database now exclusively services more than 4,000 loyal Mercedes clients. In addition, Belinda now holds several national sales records, including the much publicised sale of the first customized luxury Mercedes Benz Maybach Saloon for $1million, after a client on a business trip in London noticed it in the window display of Harrods!

 

Belinda was also recently honoured as the 2005 Sydney Business Woman of the Year, in recognition of her strategic business partnerships, media profile and pioneering activities in customer loyalty. This honour also had the effect of raising the profile of women in the motoring industry, highlighting that women actually influence 80% of all new car purchases and 50% of the total buying market. As a result, Mercedes launched a dedicated approach to sales awareness training and marketing to female customers.

Belinda believes the art of sales to be creating client experiences based on respect, trust, patience and empathy. This level of commitment and compassion is evidenced by the fact 100% of her sales come from repeat customers and glowing referrals. With such a loyal following and reputation, she also inevitably emerged as a sought–after motivational speaker and trainer.

 

In addition to frequently teaching her 'Your Network is Your Net Worth' philosophy to Mercedes–Benz dealerships throughout the world, Belinda also regularly conducts workshops and conference keynotes for corporate clients such as Westpac, National Australia Bank, City Pacific Finance, Manchester Unity and LJ Hooker. Her limitless enthusiasm, charisma and 'Intrapreneurial' flair have proven that Big ideas can not only be fostered within the confines of Big business... but sometimes redefine the very way business is run.

 

Belinda's commitment to philanthropy is also accomplished through roles as an Advisory Board member of The Kids Earth Fund and the Australian Business Women's Network. She has also twice been invited by the Premiers Department to be a Mentor in the Government initiative "Lucy Mentoring Program".
