Matt Giteau is the new star of Australian rugby. He is young, fresh and highly talented. Matt’s on-field genius is matched by his boyish good looks and charisma. Matt’s rise through the rugby ranks was so fast he made his Wallaby Test debut in 2002 before having even played a Super 12 match. In 2003, Matt played a full season of Super 12 rugby for the ACT Brumbies and his on field success transpired into his selection in the Wallabies 2003 Rugby World Cup (RWC) team.
The platform of the RWC shot Matt’s profile through the roof. He proved to the rugby world that he is a unique talent, capable of consistently turning in match-winning performances. 2004 was another stellar year for Matt and he was named as one of the 5 best players in the World. He played an instrumental role in the ACT Brumbies Super 12 Championship victory as well as kicking the winning goal for the Wallabies to sink the World Champion England side in November.
In Matt’s opening game of the 2006 Wallaby season he turned in a superb Man of the Match performance, and later that year won the Suncorp Try of the Year award at the John Eales Medal dinner.
In 2007 Matt started playing for Perth's Super 14 team, Western Force, in the Super 14 series and also played for the Wallabies in the Rugby World Cup.
