Throughout almost two decades Peter has experienced, and led people through, some of life’s most challenging events. He has come up against some of the most confronting natural disasters, accidents and acts of terrorism, making him one of Australia’s most experienced disaster management specialists.
In recent years, Peter has led both national and international Forensic and Disaster Victim Identifiction teams following the Bali Bombings, the Waterfall Train Disaster and the Boxing Day Tsunami. He has firsthand experience of what it takes to achieve results in the midst of human devastation, when outcomes can only be reached through building powerful teams quickly, and how to focus on getting the job done in the face of intense environmental, political and media pressures.
Peter is a Detective Inspector of Operations within the Forensic Services Group of the NSW Police Force, and offers a rare insight into what it takes to lead powerfully, with integrity and compassion, in the most extraordinary of circumstances.

Peter is the Co-Founder of ‘Hands Across the Waters’. Peter and Gill are raising funds to build an orphanage in the Khao Lak region of Thailand. The orphanage will provide a home for 17 children who lost both parents as a direct result of the Tsunami and a further 200 children who lost either a parent, siblings and/or their homes. Peter has spent his working career as a Crime Scene Investigator prior to moving into a Command position within the Forensic Services Group of the NSW Police.
He has completed University studies in the areas of Forensic Science, Law and post graduate studies in Management. Peter sits on a number of National bodies and advisory groups. He has received the National Medal for Service, the NSW Police Medal, and was awarded The Government of NSW Meritorious Service Award for his work in Thailand.
