Underbelly is a network of the finest performers of the ancient art forms of Belly dance, West African dance, Fire arts and Arabic and African music. These performers have entertained crowds as small as twenty and as large as nine hundred, bringing colour, excitement and spectacle to a range of events from corporate launches to dance parties.

From small intimate restaurant and bar settings to the Crown Casino, Underbelly performers have appeared at venues around Melbourne including The Arts Centre, The Metro, The Night Cat, The Speigeltent, The Regent Theatre, Hi Fi Bar and The Black Box Theatre.

Belly Dancers
Vibrant, exotic, engaging, Underbelly Belly dancers can perform solo or in troupes, fully choreographed floor shows or dynamic interactive shows which are sure to get your guests on the dance floor. Belly dancers complete every occasion, from private celebrations to corporate events and spectacular galas.

Bollywood Dancers
Just like you’ve seen in “Bride and Prejudice”, delight in India’s dance of celebration! This fun and lively dance style is characterised by a mix of traditional and modern Indian music. An expressive, delicate and beautiful dance to have your guests entranced and wanting to join in the fun.

West African Dancers
Underbelly African dancers are trained in African dance and drum techniques, through extensive travels in West Africa. Energetic, cheeky and thoroughly entertaining, African dance will inspire your guests to hit the dance floor. This spirited performance is best experienced with live African percussion.
 
Afro-Funk Dancers
Sure to get your guests hitting the dance floor, Underbelly’s Afro-funk dancers shake their booties to the coolest hip-hop, funk and RnB beats.
 

Arabic & African Musicians
Underbelly’s musicians come from all corners of the globe and are accomplished in Egyptian, Turkish, Greek, African and modern music. Underbelly’s broad network includes drummers (darabukka/tabla/doubeleke and djembe and dun dun players) and talented bouzouki, harp, guitar, violin, mizmar, flute and saxaphone players and vocalists.

Flamenco
The sultry and powerful flamenco experience is available as a package encompassing a dancer, guitarist and percussionist. With more than 15 years dance experience – this show is a must see! The show runs for 40 minutes.

Fire Artists
Daring, graceful and breath-taking, Underbelly Fire artists can perform in solos, duos or trios. Apparatus includes fire fingers, double stick and poi (fire swinging from lengths of cable).
If the fire show doesn’t impress you, wait until our artists incorporate acro-balance stunts with synchronised fire-twirling in their duo and trio shows. Underbelly Fire artists are complemented perfectly by live African or Arabic percussion and Underbelly belly dancers or West African dancers.
 
Circus Show
Funky four-piece all-girl outfit! This inspiring 20 minute show includes dance , circus , acro , fire , comedy and trix. This is the complete package presented by a troupe of Melbourne’s most experienced, hottest and talented circus performers who have presented numerous shows in both Australia and overseas.
 
Tarot Reading
“What does your future hold?” Tarot card reading can add an exciting and mysterious element to your Hen’s party. Our tarot reader can accommodate 6-8 people per hour with a 10 minute reading on life, love, career and health.
 
Henna Artist
You may wish to consider a Henna Tattooist which would be an excellent and very popular addition to any event you are planning. Our Henna Tattooist works with hundreds of assorted designs which are presented on a display board set up on an easel and may be embellished with colour work, glitter and diamantes. She uses cosmetic ink which is made with FDA Government Approved ingredients and which dries in 4 seconds, lasts up to 1 week and yet may be removed instantly with baby oil or rubbing alcohol. She can accommodate up to 20 – 30 people per hour, depending on the intricacy of the design.
